What is CAP?

CAP is a software program that helps students and families navigate the various elements of the college recruiting and application processes. CAP is interactive software that provides students who aspire to play college sports with a complete framework for what to do, how to do it, and when to do it. Based on high school graduation dates, CAP asks questions and, based on the responses, builds a comprehensive Planner specific to each user. The Planner will contain due dates for every relevant task, send parent and child built-in reminders, and automatically send periodic updates to parents (so they can easily track their son's progress). CAP also provides student-athletes and their families with an extraordinary set of "Tips" from our professional advisory staff (the Headfirst College Advisory Team) at the proper time.

CAP guides student-athletes on all topics that impact college admission including:

  • High School Academics

  • Standardized Testing

  • Summer Baseball

  • Showcase Selection & Preparation

  • Communication with College Coaches

  • Off-Season Training & Nutrition

Our Application Planner Matrix (APM) will track every detail of the admissions process, so no detail is missed when it comes to applying to college during senior year

In addition, by purchasing the CAP program, your son will have access to the "HCAT Locker". The HCAT Locker contains a wealth of written materials that aspiring college athletes and their parents can use to educate themselves on the nuances of the college process. The HCAT Locker contains everything from throwing programs to sample cover letters to "college visit logs" students can use to track their reactions to various campuses.

In short, CAP will be your son's one-stop location for the college recruiting process, and will keep you informed of exactly where he stands along the way.

CAP was developed by the Headfirst College Advisory Team (HCAT), a professional sport-specific advisory team that has helped students maximize their options to play sports at great colleges and universities since 2006. Each year, HCAT has a limited number of spots for student-athletes who are interested in personalized advising.
